Agnes Water got a brand new $1.94m skatepark that opened in late July 2026.

I've been crossing my fingers and toes that what was built would get riders across Australia stoked to travel to a new park, 5.5hrs north of Brisbane.

When a new skatepark is built in Australia, the first thing anyone asks is;

"What's the transition like?"

More often than not, riders are disappointed with either

  1. The park is too small, or
  2. The transitions are too steep

(AKA "they f*cked the tranny")

So did this happen here?

Nope.

But here's my thoughts on it.

The bowl's deep end is spot on, height would only be dictated by line choice for top speed.

The shallow end could be taller, but the hip options work and the quarters blend back into the deep end well.

The street section has a lot to offer, with basic rails and ledges laid out in a way that would allow for lines and combos.

There's also a good amount of space surrounding the obstacles which I reckon works well.

FYI, Basic doesn't mean bad - there's just a lot of weird street obstacles that exist in modern skatepark design, that really only has one use (and that limits the obstacle a lot!).

Basic allows for the rider to use their imagination.

Agnes Water skatepark Pros & Cons

PROS

  • Great transition in the bowl
  • Nice size deep end (9ft)
  • Cool lines in the bowl (it's not just a back and forth)
  • Long-ish mellow rails and ledges in the street section
  • "Basic" configuration
  • Lights
  • BBQ/Toilets
  • Agnes Water is a super nice town

CONS

  • Shallow end could've been taller (it's mayber 1650mm?)
  • There could be more deck space around outside of bowl (limited drop in space for higher speed runs)
  • Rails are pretty low
  • New park slippery-ness (but not as bad as some new parks!)

The best skateparks make you want to go back for one reason or another.

Agnes Water skatepark is one of those skateparks.

It's not perfect, but in the best way.

It's definitely satisfying to ride.

It definitely is challenging to ride... But not in a way that leave you shaking your head like "why did they make it like that?"

It left me wanting more, so that I could figure out how to ride it faster, higher... better.

The best way I can explain it is... I can't wait to go back.

Agnes Water skatepark is located on the main road of Agnes Water, on Springs rd (past the shops)
